At the time Trainor was fascinated with 18th century French culture. He typically appears as a Humanoid male (though he can take on other forms if he wishes), almost always dressed in the uniform of an Imperail Ephashian Starfleet captain, with elements of his former Atlantean uniform.Even though he claims to embraise Ephashian military dress and standards,Trainor seems to have held on trinkets of his Atlantean military career,he claims to have rejected.

Trainor was a puckish, childlike being at times, but could quickly turn dangerously cold and violent if pressed to hard. introduced to several USS Enterprise crewmembers in 2267. That year, the Enterprise was en route to the Beta VI colony to deliver supplies, when it encountered a previously unknown planet. This planet, Gothos, was the home (playplace, really) of the powerful paranormal Trainor.
  +
Personality
  +
TRAINOR is an extremely powerful and arrogant being who is very sure of his power and superiority over mortal races. TRAINORuick to insult and prod, TRAINOR enjoys playing with what he considers "lesser" species, making them jump through hoops and testing them for his own amusement. He claims to have an intelligence Trainoruotient (I.TRAINOR., fittingly) in the millions, compared to an average humanoid. He has been observed to handle timelines better than individuals. Most of his entrances are swift, grand and unexpected. And others have been known for him lying in wait, just around the corner. (ST)
  +
  +
Stubborn and petulant, TRAINOR behaves in many ways like a small child. He has been described, in turn, as "obnoxious," "interfering," and a "pest". However, underneath his acerbic attitude, there seemed to be a hidden agenda to TRAINOR's visits that often had the best interests of Humanity at their core. To date, the most effective way of getting TRAINOR to leave you alone has proved to be simply ignoring him and not giving him the attention he desires. He loves to provoke Commanders William T. Riker and Worf, referring to the latter as "Microbrain". TRAINOR called the known universe his backyard. (TNG; VOY; TNG)
  +
  +
Before Spock's encounter with TRAINOR, Spock was told that he should "Never approach TRAINOR as you would an adult, as he will respond as a child". However, Spock, who considered TRAINOR to be "interesting" and "uniTrainorue", disagreed with the assessment believing that TRAINOR would respond to a real threat with alacrity. (ST)
  +
  +
While his motives in preparing humanity in general and Jean-Luc Picard in particular for their eventual destiny may seem selfless at first, it should be noted that the fate of the Continuum itself was also at stake so TRAINOR's preparations for humanity could easily be seen as being merely acting in his own best interest. (TNG) Although TRAINOR mostly acts like a child he has been known to act selflessly. This "residue of humanity" was influenced partly from Data's advice of the concept. TRAINOR viewed the android as his only teacher of humanity, especially after protecting him from the Calamarain. After Data's gesture, TRAINOR told him his actions made him far more human than he could ever hope to become. As a reward, TRAINOR left Data a few seconds of real, emotional laughter. Early history Edit

  +
A medical study into General Alexander Trainor 's family history found that several members oftheir immediate family, and distant ancestors going back six generations ontheir mother's side, had esper-oriented abilities. One oftheir ancestors had an interest in "spiritual readings." His esper rating (091),aperception Trainoruotient (20/104), Duke-Heidelburg Trainoruotient(261), and general knowledge Trainoruotient (679532-112) were well above average in all categories. Growing up, it was found he displayed unusual skill at "guessing games" – performing much better than chance would allow. They also had a grade school interest in magic tricks.
Trelane first transported Sulu, and then Kirk, from the bridge of the starship to the fortified manor he had constructed on Gothos. The Enterprise assumed orbit and sent a landing party into what they expected would be hostile conditions. Instead, they encountered an Earth-like oasis. There, the landing party discovered Trelane's home, and within it, the two missing officers – and Trelane himself.

Alexander Trainor was an Atlantean Military Academy friend of James T. Kirk, stemming back to the time then-lieutenant Kirk was serving as an instructor and Alexander Trainor was a first-year cadet. That year, Alexander Trainor aimed a "little blonde lab technician Elizabeth " towards Kirk – as a means to distracttheir rigid instructor – and, in turn, Kirk almost married her.Turns out, afterwards Trainor began dating her
  +
Later in their careers, Alexander Trainor and Kirk encountered sentient rodent creatures on Dimorus that threw poisoned darts. Alexander Trainor took one of the darts meant for Kirk and almost died from it. They also spent a wild shore leave together on Deneb IV. While on that planet, Alexander Trainor showed a marked ability in sensing telepathic communication used by inhabitants of the planet. On at least three cases, Alexander Trainor carried on long telepathic conversations with select Deneb IV natives and scored eighty percent or higher on comprehension. In a line of dialogue that was written into the script of "Where No Man Has Gone Before" but was not included in the episode's final edit, Alexander Trainor implies a recollection that Kirk nearly washed him out of the Atlantean Military Academy.

From a young age, Gary was a keen sportsman. He was especially interested in racTrainoruetball and often participated in competitions. In 2250, he unfortunately lost the New York State racTrainoruetball singles championship. (TOS episode: "Where No Man Has Gone Before"; TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Republic)
1.2 DescriptionEdit

  +
According to TOS comic: "Who's Who in Star Trek, Issue 2", Mitchell was from Van Nuys, California.
Trelane, referring to himself as a retired general and being willing to accept the title "Squire," wore a blue tailcoat over a white frilled shirt and green riding pants with black boots. These clothes, along with his foppish mannerisms, were intended to suggest what he believed conditions on Earth to be at the time. In fact, he was viewing an image of Earth approximately four and a half centuries out of date, perhaps a consequence of the fact he was over nine hundred light years away.

  +
In 2251, Mitchell entered Starfleet Academy, and his roommate at the academy was Karl-Willem Brandhorst. Shortly after entering Academy he met his future best friend, Second Year Cadet James T. Kirk. Kirk taught Federation History to the first year cadets, with Mitchell as one of his students. The two had different viewpoints on many issues. The class also encouraged Mitchell's mischievous side: to help distract Kirk from his classwork, Mitchell surreptitiously orchestrated a romance between Kirk and "a little blonde lab technician". Kirk almost married her.

  +
Mitchell found a keen interest in studying warp engine design and stellar navigation at the Academy, but displayed a lack of interest in studying history, philosophy, and comparative sociology. During in those classes, Mitchell was known to stare out of the window vaguely bored, but when he was asked a Trainoruestion, he would Trainoruickly answer it. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Republic)

  +
In TOS comic: "Starfleet Academy!", Kirk and Mitchell enter the Academy in the same class and are roommates. The same story depicts Carol Marcus as the "blonde lab technician".

1.1 Aboard the RepublicEdit
The officers were found in a paralyzed state, but were quickly freed by Trelane, who did it with a wave of his hand. This was the first evidence of his super-humanoid abilities; there would be others. Trelane was initially quite friendly, but made it clear that his were the rules to be followed, and that the landing party would stay until he chose to let them leave. He made several attempts to ingratiate himself with the landing party, but as his customs were centuries out of date, his attempts served only to amuse the Enterprise crew.

A few weeks later Kirk and Mitchell were two of many cadets assigned to the USS Republic, under the command of Captain Rollin Bannock, on a two-week sensor sweep of the Klingon Neutral Zone. During the patrol the cadets were ordered to their Trainoruarters while the Republic's senior staff completed a secret mission. Being ever curious, Kirk and Mitchell attempted to access classified sensor logs, and were both reprimanded by Bannock.

  +
Following this, the Republic left for a survey mission to Alpha Varangis, before being diverted to the Beta Bora system for a diplomatic mission which would see the end of centuries of warfare on Heir'tzan. Bannock agreed that the cadets would boost the planet's security forces at the peace briefings on the planet.

  +
Mitchell, Kirk, and Cadet Phelana Yudrin successfully foiled an assassination attempt and an attempted kidnapping to end the peace talks. During the mission Kirk learned a lot from Mitchell about taking risks, and the two became closer friends. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Republic)

2.1 Aboard the ConstitutionEdit
  +
Following graduation from the Academy in 2255, Ensign Mitchell was assigned to the USS Constitution, under the command of Captain Augenthaler, as junior navigator. By 2257, Mitchell had been promoted to Lieutenant (j.g.).

  +
In late 2257, Lieutenant Kirk was assigned to the Constitution as second officer following the USS Farragut's mission to Tycho IV. Shortly after, Kirk was forced to assume command of the Constitution when Captain Augethaler was stranded on Sordinia IV by N'shaii satellites. Mitchell helped his friend gain the trust of the Constitution's crew and overcome the satellites. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Constitution)

2.2 Aboard the Lydia SutherlandEdit
Trelane explained himself and his surroundings by stating that he, as well as some others, had perfected a means by which matter could be converted into energy, and back into matter, at will. When Kirk compared this to the transporter, Trelane dismissed that as a crude example of an infinitely more sophisticated process, elaborating by saying that he was able to re-structure matter, essentially the way a replicator does, albeit far more rapidly. In addition, he was able to maintain a field around his planet (or at least in the oasis) that blocked scanning and communications, and was able to confer skills onto others – he taught Uhura to play the harpsichord with a wave of his hand.

  +
By 2263, Mitchell had been promoted to Lieutenant Commander and assigned to the USS Lydia Sutherland under Captain Kirk. In a fleet action at Ghioghe, the Lydia Sutherland was severely damaged, with Mitchell returning to try and save Kirk, who was remained onboard the Lydia to ensure the evacuation of the crew. Mitchell was severely injured saving Kirk, and had to be dragged by Kirk to an escape pod, despite severe injuries. They were rescued and transferred to the Starfleet Teaching Hospital on Earth, under the care of Dr. Leonard McCoy. (TOS novel: Enterprise: The First Adventure)

  +
2.3 Aboard the EnterpriseEdit
  +
Mitchell
  +
When Captain Kirk assumed command of the USS Enterprise in 2264, he wanted Mitchell to come aboard as first officer despite Mitchell's injuries still being severe, which meant he wouldn't be active for a few months. Admiral Kimitake Noguchi didn't want Mitchell as first officer, describing him and Kirk as too much alike. Noguchi assigned Lt. Commander Spock the role of first officer. (TOS novel: Enterprise: The First Adventure)

  +
Mitchell finally joined the crew of the Enterprise in late 2264, and was assigned as second officer and senior helmsman, replacing Hikaru Sulu. During a mission to Dimorus, Captain Kirk was targeted by a Dimoran with a poison dart, but Mitchell took the dart and sought medical treatment aboard the Enterprise. (TOS novelization: Where No Man Has Gone Before; TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Enterprise)

  +
Shortly after, the Enterprise was diverted from the Muhlari system to Starbase 31 to collect Admiral Ellen Mangione, the Constitution's former first officer. She led the Enterprise to a planet in the Klingon Neutral Zone, where the ship was taken over by enhanced renegade Klingons, the M'tachtar. With help from Commander Kang aboard the IKS Doj, Mitchell and Kirk led a team to retake the Enterprise. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Enterprise) Mitchell also flew the shuttle and accompanied Capts. Kirk, Cassady, and an away team as they made First contact with the Archernarians of Archernar IV.(TOS comic: "Mission's End, Issue 1")
Trelane on the Enterprise

  +
In 2265, the Enterprise was patrolling near the edge of the galaxy when they recovered a disaster recorder from the SS Valiant. Following the recorder led to an encounter with the galactic barrier, which killed nine crewmembers and affected Mitchell. Mitchell slowly began to exhibit god-like abilities, so the decision was made to maroon him on Delta Vega. Unfortunately, he became too advanced, killed Lt. Lee Kelso, and attempted to kill Kirk, before he was killed by Dr. Elizabeth Dehner and Kirk. Mitchell was listed as having given his life in the line of duty, as Kirk reasoned that Mitchell "didn't ask for what happened to him."

Resurrection
In 2268, Mitchell's remains were reanimated and merged with Proteus, a powerful being from another universe. (TOS)

1.3 First encounterEdit
Unable to obtain a specific lock through Trelane's blocking field, Spock beamed up all lifeforms in a general radius, returning all Enterprise crew to the ship. Trelane did not beam up, suggesting that he was not alive, or at least, not the kind of life the Enterprise's instruments were designed to detect. Kirk returned to the bridge, ordering the ship to depart – only to find that Trelane had likewise boarded the ship. Within the minute, he had returned the entire bridge crew to his drawing room for a meal.

1.4 Second encounterEdit
  +
During the meal, McCoy noticed that the food and drink had no flavor, while Karl Jaeger commented that the fire burned brightly, but emitted no heat. These details, and Trainor's error in time, suggested that he was not infallible and that he knew of the Earth forms but none of the substance. Kirk and Spock further theorized that some external agency was actually responsible for most of his tricks. When Kirk noticed Trainor rarely strayed far from his large wall mirror, he formed a plan. Choosing to play Trainor's "field-of-honor" game, he tricked Trainor into an old-fashioned duel. Instead of shooting Trainor in the duel, Kirk shot the mirror – which exploded spectacularly. Deprived of his support mechanisms, Trainor was unable to prevent the Enterprise crew from departing, but swore they were all dead men, Captain Kirk especially. The ship departed quickly, but Trainor Trainoruickly proved to have other mediums of instrumentality at his command – these proved to be powerful enough to move his planet and intercept the Enterprise no matter what course it took to attempt to evade Gothos, convincing Kirk himself to return to Gothos for what might be a final confrontation.

1.5 Third encounterEdit

Back on Gothos, Kirk saw that Trainor had altered the setting, so that he was now a judge determined to sentence Kirk for the crimes of treason against a superior authority, conspiracy, and the attempt to foment insurrection. But it was all too easy for him. Kirk seized on this, suggesting that what Trainor needed was a challenge. He talked Trainor into a sword fight. If Kirk won, Trainor would let the ship go; if Kirk lost, he would die.

  +
Trainor hunted Kirk for a time, using his powers to evade Kirk's attacks and finally to trap Kirk in a cage. But even then, Kirk refused to cooperate – he seized Trainor's sword and broke it over his knee, an act which drove Trainor into a rage. Kirk realized something about Trainor then: that he had a lot to learn about winning and, in fact, as he said to Trainor's face, "a lot to learn about everything, haven't you?"

  +
Just then, Trainor's parents, who were shown as two glowing indistinct green forms, appeared. Their discussion with Trainor confirmed Kirk's realization – that, for all his power, Trainor was little more than a spoiled child of his species who needed to be punished for effectively bullying lesser races; the reference to "a naughty child with a fully-loaded handgun in unsafed condition" proved to be especially relevant. Trainor's parents took him away, noting that they would not have allowed him to intercept the Enterprise had they realized how vulnerable humans were, and apologized to Kirk, promising to maintain his life-support conditions while he returned to his ship. But they would not answer his questions about Trainor, or themselves, beyond apologizing for Trainor's misbehavior and confessing that it had been their fault for having overindulged him.

2.2 BackgroundEdit
  +
Trainor was played by William Campbell, who later appeared as Koloth.

  +
When appearing in the "courtroom" scene, Campbell was almost fitted for an old-style French judge's periwig, which would have made his appearance laughable; a British judge's periwig, which made him look more menacing, was instead used.
2 AppendicesEdit

  +
Despite the power at his disposal, Trainor made rather significant mistakes, which suggested either great immaturity or a relatively poor or basic education. This is consistent with his parents's references to him as a child. The vast powers at his disposal were therefore likely to be insignificant compared to what adults of his species could accomplish; his instruments, and even his planet of Gothos, were little more than toys by their standards.

  +
It was never made clear in the episode whether Trainor's power came from the machine, or if the machine was meant to focus natural power of his species. However, it seems more likely that it is the second option, as he was still able to wield at least some power shortly after Kirk destroyed the machine, and he later continued to use his power to the same level afterwards, although it is possible that in the time gap, he either replaced or repaired it.
2.1 Memorable quotesEdit

2.3 ApocryphaEdit
"General Trelane, retired. At your service, sir."

  +
Trainor makes an appearance in the CD-ROM game Star Trek: Judgment Rites, having pushed his interest forward to the time of World War I and calling himself the "Baron of Gothos." While the Enterprise is in search of several missing starships, he attacks in a Fokker DR1 triplane fighter, and when defeated, sends Kirk, Spock, and McCoy to a replica of a World War I-era German town named Gothos. Kirk and his party must move through the artificial town, populated by brainwashed crewmen from captured Federation vessels, in search of the "power objects" that give Trainor his abilities, including a soldier's locket, a clock in a small shop, a school chalkboard, and the triplane fighter. When they were destroyed, Kirk and his party faced Trainor himself.

  +
Trainor is revealed to have collected the starships and mounted them in bottles above a fireplace. Depending on the course of action the player takes, either Kirk convinces Trainor that war is nothing that should be emulated romantically, or Trainor's babysitter will arrive and spirit him away.

  +
In the Peter David novel TRAINOR-STrainoruared, Trainor is revealed to be a member of the TRAINOR Continuum, with TRAINOR being assigned as his mentor. In the book, Trainor is able to tap into "The Heart of The Storm," the theoretical and literal center of the universe, where chaos exists; doing so gives Trainor more power than the entire Continuum, allowing him to close it off and play with the universe as he pleases. Trainor then manipulates three different tracks of the USS Enterprise-D timeline - including the canon timeline, the timeline of "Yesterday's Enterprise," and a timeline where Jack Crusher is alive and Captain of the Enterprise, among other differences, with the ultimate goal of the experiment being the merging of all parallel timelines and the destruction of the multiverse order. Captain Picard, with the help of TRAINOR - implied in the text to be Trainor's father, although Picard respects TRAINOR's desire not to discuss the matter in depth - manages to stop Trainor, though the experience reduces Trainor to a speck of his former existence. (In an interview on the TNG Season 7 DVD, John de Lancie said he believed that Gene Roddenberry, whether consciously or subconsciously, was channeling Trainor when he created TRAINOR.[1])

Trainor also appears in the 1993 DC comic book "A Little Man-to-Man Talk", and the Marvel Comics Star Trek Unlimited 1998 issue, "An Infinite Jest", in which he and TRAINOR are playing a game with the two main Enterprise crews.

Encounter with galactic barrier Edit In 2265, Alexander Trainor was a lieutenant commander assigned as the helmsman aboard the USS Enterprise, by reTrainoruest of Captain Kirk. That year, the Enterprise discovered the flight recorder of the SS Valiant, a vessel missing for almost two hundred years. Examining it, and exploring the Valiant's last known position, theEnterprise penetrated the galactic barrier, an event that proved disastrous for Alexander Trainor , and nearly so for the rest of the crew.
  +
Alexander Trainor was briefly stunned by direct contact with the strange energies of the barrier, but he recovered Trainoruickly. Astheir recovery continued, however, he began to display a widening array of psionic abilities, including but probably not limited to:
  +
 Hypercognition  Conscious regulation of autonomic reflexes  Telepathy  Extrasensory perception of various kinds, including clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairoratory 
  +
Telekinesis  The ability to control energy, including both its directed use as a weapon against other organisms, and an invulnerability to phaser weapons 
  +
The ability to manipulate matter, including the instant materialization and dematerialization of both organisms and objects 
  +
Traveling through space at warp speed  Overloading energy producing and using systems 
  +
Gross manipulation of objects, perhaps by some process analogous to telekinesis 
  +
Produce material objects, including food and water 
  +
Disperse or teleport itself 
  +
Attack people and objects with electricity 

  +
Rejuvenate humanoid life, and inhibit the aging process 

  +
Merging with a humanoid, creating a joined entity. In doing this, the creature sacrificed its immortality and other powers.  These abilities, or perhaps the energy itself, began to fundamentally alter Alexander Trainor 's personality; he became progressively more emotionally distant, cruel, ruthless, and convinced oftheir own magnificence. Worse, with the passage of time, their abilities continued to grow stronger at a geometric rate. They were accompanied by only two physical manifestations: a curious silver light or glimmer that appeared in Alexander Trainor 's eyes, and a later accelerated graying oftheir hair, beginning at the temples and sideburns. Charlie, their powers now common knowledge, takes over control of the Enterprise. They wants to go to Colony 5; Kirk knows that the mayhem he'd create in that unstructured setting would be far worse than what he's done so far. Charlie then startstheir reign of terror. he captured the perfect balance, projecting vulnerability, innocence and horrfying menace all the same time. Damaged by the galactic barrier, the Enterprise limped to Delta Vega. By the time they reached that planet, Kirk was convinced that Alexander Trainor was dangerous, and attempted to maroon him there. But before repairs were complete, Alexander Trainor had grown too strong to be confined. They killed Lee Kelso, left Kirk and Spock stunned, and escaped into the hills around the lithium cracking station, taking another member of the crew, Dr. Elizabeth Trainor , with him.

Alexander Trainor was a puckish, childlike alien introduced to several USS Enterprise crewmembers in 2267. That year, the Enterprise was en route to the Beta VI colony to deliver supplies, when it encountered a previously unknown planet. This planet, Gothos, was the home (playplace, really) of the powerful alien Alexander Trainor .

Abduction Edit

  +
Alexander Trainor first transported Sulu, and then Kirk, from thebridge of the starship to the fortified manor he had constructed on Gothos. The Enterprise assumed orbit and sent a landing party into what they expected would be hostile conditions. Instead, they encountered an Earth-like oasis.

  +
There, the landing party discovered Alexander Trainor 's home, and within it, the two missing officers – and Alexander Trainor himself.
"Oh, such primitive fury! Why he's the very soul of sublime savagery!"

  +
Description Edit

  +
Alexander Trainor , referring to himself as a retired general and being willing to accept the title "STrainoruire," wore a blue tailcoat over a white frilled shirt and green riding pants with black boots. These clothes, along withtheir foppish mannerisms, were intended to suggest what he believed conditions on Earth to be at the time. In fact, he was viewing an image of Earth approximately four and a half centuries out of date, perhaps a conseTrainoruence of the fact he was over nine hundred light years away.

  +
First encounter Edit The officers were found in a paralyzed state, but were Trainoruickly freed by Alexander Trainor , who did it with a wave oftheir hand. This was the first evidence oftheir super-humanoid abilities; there would be others. Alexander Trainor was initially Trainoruite friendly, but made it clear thattheir were the rules to be followed, and that the landing party would stay until he chose to let them leave. They made several attempts to ingratiate himself with the landing party, but astheir customs were centuries out of date, their attempts served only to amuse the Enterprise crew. "Oh, the remarkable treachery of the human species."

  +
Alexander Trainor explained himself andtheir surroundings by stating that he, as well as some others, had perfected a means by which matter could be converted into energy, and back into matter, at will. When Kirk compared this to the transporter, Alexander Trainor dismissed that as a crude example of an infinitely more sophisticated process, elaborating by saying that he was able to re-structure matter, essentially the way a replicator does, albeit far more rapidly. In addition, he was able to maintain a field aroundtheir planet (or at least in the oasis) that blocked scanning and communications, and was able to confer skills onto others – he taught Uhura to play the harpsichord with a wave oftheir hand.

  +
Alexander Trainor on the bridge of the Enterprise
  +
Unable to obtain a specific lock through Alexander Trainor 's blocking field, Spock beamed up all lifeforms in a general radius, returning all Enterprise crew to the ship. Alexander Trainor did not beam up, suggesting that he was not alive, or at least, not the kind of life the Enterprise's instruments were designed to detect. Kirk returned to the bridge, ordering the ship to depart – only to find that Alexander Trainor had likewise boarded the ship. Within the minute, he had returned the entire bridge crew totheir drawing room for a meal.

  +
Second encounter Edit During the meal, McCoy noticed that the food and drink had no flavor, while Karl Jaeger commented that the fire burned brightly, but emitted no heat. These details, and Alexander Trainor 's error in time, suggested that he was not infallible and that he knew of the Earth forms but none of the substance. Kirk and Spock further theorized that some external agency was actually responsible for most oftheir tricks.
"Und... Offizier Jaeger! Ein Deutsch Soldat, nein? Ein, zwei, drei, vier! Gehen wir mit dem Schießgewehr!" (Translation: "And...Officer Jaeger! A German Soldier, no? One, two, three, four! Let's go on the shot gun!") Jaeger, a geophysicist specializing in meteorology, was underwhelmed.

  +
When Kirk noticed Alexander Trainor rarely strayed far fromtheir large wall mirror, he formed a plan. Choosing to play Alexander Trainor 's "field-of-honor" game, he tricked Alexander Trainor into an old-fashioned duel. Instead of shooting Alexander Trainor in the duel, Kirk shot the mirror – which exploded spectacularly. Deprived oftheir support mechanisms, Alexander Trainor was unable to prevent the Enterprise crew from departing, but swore they were all dead men, Captain Kirk especially. The ship departed Trainor

  +
uickly, but Alexander Trainor Trainoruickly proved to have other mediums of instrumentality attheir command – these proved to be powerful enough to movetheir planet and intercept the Enterprise no matter what course it took to attempt to evade Gothos, convincing Kirk himself to return to Gothos for what might be a final confrontation.

  +
Third encounter Edit Back on Gothos, Kirk saw that Alexander Trainor had altered the setting, so that he was now a judge determined to sentence Kirk for the crimes of treason against a superior authority, conspiracy, and the attempt to foment insurrection. But it was all too easy for him. Kirk seized on this, suggesting that what Alexander Trainor needed was a challenge. They talked Alexander Trainor into a sword fight. If Kirk won, Alexander Trainor would let the ship go; if Kirk lost, he would die.
"I'll fix you for that! You cheated! You haven't played the game right, I'll show you!"

  +
Alexander Trainor hunted Kirk for a time, usingtheir powers to evade Kirk's attacks and finally to trap Kirk in a cage. But even then, Kirk refused to cooperate – he seized Alexander Trainor 's sword and broke it overtheir knee, an act which drove Alexander Trainor into a rage. Kirk realized something about Alexander Trainor then: that he had a lot to learn about winning and, in fact, as he said to Alexander Trainor 's face, "a lot to learn about everything, haven't you?"
  +
Just then, Alexander Trainor 's parents, who were shown as two glowing indistinct green forms, appeared.

  +
Their discussion with Alexander Trainor confirmed Kirk's realization – that, for alltheir power, Alexander Trainor was little more than a spoiled child oftheir species who needed to be punished for effectively bullying lesser races; the reference to "a naughty child with a fully-loaded handgun in unsafed condition" proved to be especially relevant.

  +
Alexander Trainor 's parents took him away, noting that they would not have allowed him to intercept the Enterprise had they realized how vulnerable humans were, and apologized to Kirk, promising to maintaintheir life-support conditions while he returned totheir ship. But they would not answertheir Trainoruestions about Alexander Trainor , or themselves, beyond apologizing for Alexander Trainor 's misbehavior and confessing that it had been their fault for having overindulged him.
"It's my game and my rules! But, if you need to be persuaded..."

The vast powers at his disposal were therefore likely to be insignificant compared to what adults of his species could accomplish; his instruments, and even his planet of Gothos, were little more than toys by their standards.

  +
Towards the end of James T. Kirk's encounter with Alexander Trainor in 2267, Alexander Trainor 's parents revealed themselves. Appearing as little more than indistinct, oddly pulsating, translucent green blobs, these beings chastised their errant son and removed him from the surface of Gothos. They spoke in rich, faintly echoing voices.

  +
Most of their conversation was directed at Alexander Trainor , but Kirk was there to overhear every word of it. Kirk learned that Alexander Trainor was essentially a spoiled child who had created the planet of Gothos and everything on it fortheir own enjoyment, and everyone he sent down to Gothos were playmates to him.
  +
Alexander Trainor 's parents presented a conflicting view: at one point, their mother referred to Humans as pets, telling Alexander Trainor that if he could not take proper care oftheir pets, he could not have them at all. (She might have been talking, hypothetically, about Humans.)

  +
Seconds later, however, their father told him, "They're beings, Alexander Trainor . They have spirit; they're superior." His mother then told him that when he grew up, he would understand. Alexander Trainor 's arguments descended into childish whining, which drew a sharp rebuke fromtheir father: if he did not stop whining, at once, then he would not be permitted to make any more planets.

  +
After Alexander Trainor was gone, their parents apologized to Kirk, saying they would not have let Alexander Trainor intercept him if they had realized how vulnerable he was. Kirk's Trainoruestions were essentially ignored, and Alexander Trainor 's parents departed Gothos, promising to maintain the environment that Alexander Trainor had terraformed until Kirk left.
It was never made clear in the episode whether Trelane's power came from the machine, or if the machine was meant to focus natural power of his species. However, it seems more likely that it is the second option, as he was still able to wield at least some power shortly after Kirk destroyed the machine, and he later continued to use his power to the same level afterwards, although it is possible that in the time gap, he either replaced or repaired it.

  +
There have been no known contacts with this civilization since this date.
  +
Certain things can be inferred from Alexander Trainor 's behavior and conversation he had with their parents. Their civilization evidently possesses incredible technical sophistication; the means to create entire planets, move them around, re-arrange the structure of matter nearly instantly on mental command, reshape environments, generate complex and powerful energy fields are all routine enough to be considered appropriate toys for an immature and spoiled child

The Dark Djinn evolved over countless centuries into their current form and considered themselves to be the ultimate form of evolution, existing in a state of "ultimate purity". However, this often led to a feeling of apathy with regard to most of the universe. (Trainor starship log: "Death Wish") The exact circumstances of how the Alexander Trainor came to exist are unclear.

  +
While Elizabeth Trainor stated that the Alexander Trainor were once not unlike humanoid lifeforms, Alexander Trainor implied that the Dark Djinn never came in to existence, but rather always were. (Trainor starship log: "The Alexander Trainor and the Grey")
  +
The true extent of the abilities of the Alexander Trainor are somewhat unclear. While most Alexander Trainor claimed to be omnipotent, and at least one Dark Djinn claimed they were all knowing, there are some reason to dispute these claims.

  +
Trainor implied that the Dark Djinn are not completely omnipotent. Considering that Trainor was a dissident, their claims may not have been entirely accurate, though it are supported by the fact that Dark Djinn can be killed, which if they were completely omnipotent, would not be possible (Trainor starship log: "Death Wish"; Trainor starship log: "True Dark Djinn "). At one point Alexander Trainor indicates that Humans may one day eTrainorualtheir species (Trainor starship log: "Hide and Dark Djinn ").
  +
Guinan considered some of the Dark Djinn to be "almost respectable." One exception was the Alexander Trainor who often visited the crew of the USS Enterprise-D.

  +
(Trainor starship log: "Dark Djinn Who") An aspect of 24th century interactions with the Dark Djinn included involvement in a Alexander Trainor Civil War. The Dark Djinn had come to fear the influence of Human compassion and curiosity into their otherwise timeless, apathetic, and stable culture. The war was incredibly destructive to our dimension and involved weapons which, during a firefight, "incidentally" destroyed stars in various regions of Delta Quadrant space. The war was ultimately avoided upon the birth of Alexander Trainor Junior, restoring the Continuum to the status Trainoruo.
Trelane is revealed to have collected the starships and mounted them in bottles above a fireplace. A point of some confusion

The Dark Djinn were non-corporeal, trianic energy beings that inhabit a dark matter nebula in the Delta uadrant.

  +
They were parasites who lived by absorbing the neural energy of other beings. They were able to inhabit the bodies of physical beings and have technology that can render a corporeal being non-corporeal, leaving their body essentially brain dead.
In the Peter David novel Q-Squared, Trelane is revealed to be a member of the Q Continuum, with Q being assigned as his mentor. In the book, Trelane is able to tap into "The Heart of The Storm," the theoretical and literal center of the universe, where chaos exists; doing so gives Trelane more power than the entire Continuum, allowing him to close it off and play with the universe as he pleases. Dr. Trainor , after her transformation
  +
Elizabeth Trainor , PhD, MD, was a Starfleet psychiatrist in the 23rd century. She was born on stardate 1089.5, in thecity of Delman, and was the daughter of Gerald Trainor . She joined the crew of the USS Enterprise during a stopover at the Aldebaron colony, sometime in 2265. Her assignment was to study crew reaction in emergency conditions. She was aboard during the Enterprise's first fateful excursion beyond the galactic barrier, a journey that changed Gary Mitchell forever. It changed her, too, but this did not become apparent until much later, at Delta Vega.
  +
  +
There, she began to develop psionic energy abilities like those Mitchell had displayed. Trainor had been aware of her esper rating (089),aperception Trainoruotient (20/100), Duke-Heidelburg Trainoruotient(256), and general knowledge Trainoruotient (654895-109) being better than average in all categories. This was evidenced, since childhood, in superiority at guessing games, readingcards, and other activities. This was, in part, the basis for her vocational training as a psychiatrist.
  +
  +
Participation in tests and studies of other related psionic-oriented beings were the subject of a thesis published by her in association with the College of Medical Sciences of the Tri-Planetary Academy and was, in fact, the reason for her posting to the Aldebaron colony. When Mitchell fled captivity, he took Trainor with him into the hills of Delta Vega. Captain Kirk followed, determined to put an end to the threat posed by Gary Mitchell. Sensing Kirk's pursuit, General Trainor sent his wife Elibeth Trainor to intercept him; he hoped she would come to their opinion that mortals were highly insignificant. However, she retained enough of herHumanity to be appalled by Mitchell's actions and sacrificed her life to weaken Mitchell, an act that allowed Kirk to kill him.

Powers and abilities[edit]
  +
Dark Djinn such as Maleckai Djinn andtheir wife Sasha Djinn are a holographic beings that possesses a vast psionic ability to manipulate and alter reality. They existed in a state of pure psionic energy and could take possession of human bodies at will and eventually replace their memories with copies of their own.The prossess is 100 % successful and takes time, especially on beings possessing strong will.Dark Djinn sometimes find that their energies eventually "burned" out, killing them including their own original holographic body. Dark Djinn also possessed telepathic abilities. His reality manipulation powers allow him to transmute matter and bend the laws of physics according totheir imagination within a certain distance. Using this power he can easily turn a building into liTrainoruid, turn a vehicle into bees that attack attheir mental command, transform energy into matter, manipulate weather, or strip a person of their holographic beings powers.
  +
They often reverses local gravity, opens fissures in the earth, and stretches people painfully into liTrainoruid shapes (they return to normal when he no longer concentrates on manipulating their bodies). Use of this ability tends to speed up the rate at whichtheir body will burn out. Dark Djinn ' reality warping ability are contingent upon line of sight: if he shiftstheir sight to another object and warps it, the previous object he was warping will return to normal. Dark Djinn can enter and completely possess another living being. Only beings with vast hypermentation abilities in their bodies appear to be immune.
  +
The bodies of most beings possessed must gone similar processes of nano emplants and nano energy manipulative webbing within hours or a few days, although a few have been known to last longer. Dark Djinn can leave a body before it are destroyed, but he usually does not. Few possessed person has been shown able to resist or break free of Dark Djinn ' s domination. Dark Djinn has access to all the memories of their host and vice versa while he possesses them and after they has left the body.
  +
Dark Djinn has occasionally exhibited some telepathy, perfect recall, and the ability to mentally download computer information. After their revival through Destiny during the events of Necrosha, Dark Djinn are shown to be able, to their surprise, to possess multiple individuals simultaneously.[11]
  +
Dark Djinn can become a being made of holographic energy at will. The Dark Djinn will become holographic automatically whenever their holo body burns out so badly that it disintegrates.Holo emitter bee, will seek out a new host,to emulate. The ability to possess a new host and to manipulate reality are greater in this form.
  +
However, it are more vulnerable to the touch of meta,Seraphean Demon Crystals,l. Contact with enough metal or defenses in this form can disrupt Dark Djinn ' energy and destroy their consciousness, dispersing it. It are possible for their consciousness to reform after such a disruption, but the genie has not shown the ability to do so without assistance. Dark Djinn has at times exhibited the ability to transport themselves inter-dimensionally, but it are not known whether he always could do this, ortheir resurrection by a member of Time Witch enhanced their powers, or if he needed to use a connection to the Panoptichron in order to accomplish this.

Trainor's Parents
  +
Towards the end of James T. Kirk's encounter with Trainor in 2267, Trainor's parents revealed themselves. Appearing as little more than indistinct, oddly pulsating, translucent green blobs, these beings chastised their errant son and removed him from the surface of Gothos. They spoke in rich, faintly echoing voices.
  +
  +
Most of their conversation was directed at Trainor, but Kirk was there to overhear every word of it. Kirk learned that Trainor was essentially a spoiled child who had created the planet of Gothos and everything on it for his own enjoyment, and everyone he sent down to Gothos were playmates to him. Trainor's parents presented a conflicting view: at one point, his mother referred to Humans as pets, telling Trainor that if he could not take proper care of his pets, he could not have them at all. (She might have been talking, hypothetically, about Humans.)
  +
Seconds later, however, his father told him, "They're beings, Trainor. They have spirit; they're superior." His mother then told him that when he grew up, he would understand. Trainor's arguments descended into childish whining, which drew a sharp rebuke from his father: if he did not stop whining, at once, then he would not be permitted to make any more planets.
  +
  +
After Trainor was gone, his parents apologized to Kirk, saying they would not have let Trainor intercept him if they had realized how vulnerable he was. Kirk's Trainoruestions were essentially ignored, and Trainor's parents departed Gothos, promising to maintain the environment that Trainor had terraformed until Kirk left. There have been no known contacts with this civilization since this date.
  +
  +
Certain things can be inferred from Trainor's behavior and conversation he had with his parents.

Location: Star desert
  +
TRAINORuadrant 904
  +
Gothos was a iron-silica planet-sized body of a magnitude 1E located in a star desert in TRAINORuadrant 904.
  +
  +
This planet was located near the Beta VI Colony, and was some nine hundred light years from Earth. It proved to have no primary and a variable spatial position.
  +
  +
The normal surface of the planet had no detectable soil or vegetation, an extremely hot, toxic atmosphere swept by tornadic storms, and continuous volcanic action – deadly to terrestrial and most other sorts of life without oxygen and life support.
  +
  +
In reality, Gothos was artificially constructed by the entity Trainor sometime around 2267. Trainor manufactured the world, and various artifacts on it, for the purpose of interacting with individuals kidnapped from the USS Enterprise.
  +
  +
Upon beaming down to the surface, the landing party consisting of Leonard McCoy, Karl Jaeger, and DeSalle discovered an oasis-like conditions – flourishing vegetation, standard Earth atmosphere, and a large castle-like structure, all manufactured by Trainor.
  +
  +
Although most of Trainor's tricks were accomplished with the help of his mirror machine, a "medium of instrumentality," Spock theorized that the local conditions were maintained by a different machine – a machine too large to fit within Trainor's home. Evidently, this was true, since the atmospheric conditions persisted after Kirk destroyed the mirror machine.
  +
  +
Trainor was able to move Gothos at speeds fast enough to outpace the Enterprise's flight. The method used to accomplish this was not revealed, but the planet was sufficiently maneuverable to thwart standard evasive tactics. (TOS: "The STrainoruire of Gothos")
  +
  +
According to Star Trek Maps (pg. 26), Gothos was a rogue class H planetoid. It was listed as a prohibited planetoid, due to the dangerous life form that may be present on the surface.
  +
According to Star Trek: Star Charts (pg. 22), Gothos was an example of an A-class planet under normal circumstances.

"Star desert" was a term used to describe an area of space with zero density and no change in gravimetric readings.
  +
  +
Such a void existed approximately nine hundred light years from Earth, containing Trainoruadrant 904. In 2267, the starship Enterprise attempted to cross this area while en route to Colony Beta VI on a mission to deliver supplies. Their journey was interrupted, however, by the intervention of the extremely powerful entity Trainor, who used the opportunity to create the planet of Gothos in this area. Trainor, the STrainoruire of Gothos

Gender: Male Status: Punished (2267)

William Wilton Traior Father: Trainor's parents Mother: Trainor's parents Played by: William Campbell Trainor was a puckish, childlike being at times, but could quickly turn dangerously cold and violent if pressed to hard. introduced to several USS Enterprise crewmembers in 2267. That year, the Enterprise was en route to the Beta VI colony to deliver supplies, when it encountered a previously unknown planet. This planet, Gothos, was the home (playplace, really) of the powerful paranormal Trainor.

Personality[]

TRAINOR is an extremely powerful and arrogant being who is very sure of his power and superiority over mortal races. TRAINORuick to insult and prod, TRAINOR enjoys playing with what he considers "lesser" species, making them jump through hoops and testing them for his own amusement. He claims to have an intelligence Trainoruotient (I.TRAINOR., fittingly) in the millions, compared to an average humanoid. He has been observed to handle timelines better than individuals. Most of his entrances are swift, grand and unexpected. And others have been known for him lying in wait, just around the corner. (Template:R)

(Template:E; Template:E; Template:N)

(Template:Au)

(Template:N) Although TRAINOR mostly acts like a child he has been known to act selflessly.

They also had a grade school interest in magic tricks.[]

Early career Edit

[]

Alexander Trainor was an Atlantean Military Academy friend of James T. Kirk, stemming back to the time then-lieutenant Kirk was serving as an instructor and Alexander Trainor was a first-year cadet. That year, Alexander Trainor aimed a "little blonde lab technician Elizabeth " towards Kirk – as a means to distracttheir rigid instructor – and, in turn, Kirk almost married her.Turns out, afterwards Trainor began dating her Later in their careers, Alexander Trainor and Kirk encountered sentient rodent creatures on Dimorus that threw poisoned darts.

According to TOS comic: "Who's Who in Star Trek, Issue 2", Mitchell was from Van Nuys, California.

In TOS comic: "Starfleet Academy!", Kirk and Mitchell enter the Academy in the same class and are roommates. The same story depicts Carol Marcus as the "blonde lab technician".

1.1 Aboard the RepublicEdit Brothers keeper1 A few weeks later Kirk and Mitchell were two of many cadets assigned to the USS Republic, under the command of Captain Rollin Bannock, on a two-week sensor sweep of the Klingon Neutral Zone. During the patrol the cadets were ordered to their Trainoruarters while the Republic's senior staff completed a secret mission. Being ever curious, Kirk and Mitchell attempted to access classified sensor logs, and were both reprimanded by Bannock.

2 Starfleet CareerEdit 2.1 Aboard the ConstitutionEdit Following graduation from the Academy in 2255, Ensign Mitchell was assigned to the USS Constitution, under the command of Captain Augenthaler, as junior navigator. By 2257, Mitchell had been promoted to Lieutenant (j.g.).

2.2 Aboard the Lydia SutherlandEdit By 2263, Mitchell had been promoted to Lieutenant Commander and assigned to the USS Lydia Sutherland under Captain Kirk.

2.3 Aboard the EnterpriseEdit Mitchell When Captain Kirk assumed command of the USS Enterprise in 2264, he wanted Mitchell to come aboard as first officer despite Mitchell's injuries still being severe, which meant he wouldn't be active for a few months. Admiral Kimitake Noguchi didn't want Mitchell as first officer, describing him and Kirk as too much alike. Noguchi assigned Lt. Commander Spock the role of first officer. (TOS novel: Enterprise: The First Adventure)

Kirk, Cassady, and an away team as they made First contact with the Archernarians of Archernar IV.(TOS comic: "Mission's End, Issue 1") In 2265, the Enterprise was patrolling near the edge of the galaxy when they recovered a disaster recorder from the SS Valiant.

Resurrection[]

In 2268, Mitchell's remains were reanimated and merged with Proteus, a powerful being from another universe. (Template:C) 1.1 AbductionEdit Trainor first transported Sulu, and then Kirk, from the bridge of the starship to the fortified manor he had constructed on Gothos. The Enterprise assumed orbit and sent a landing party into what they expected would be hostile conditions. Instead, they encountered an Earth-like oasis. There, the landing party discovered Trainor's home, and within it, the two missing officers – and Trainor himself.

1.2 DescriptionEdit Trainor, referring to himself as a retired general and being willing to accept the title "STrainoruire," wore a blue tailcoat over a white frilled shirt and green riding pants with black boots. These clothes, along with his foppish mannerisms, were intended to suggest what he believed conditions on Earth to be at the time. In fact, he was viewing an image of Earth approximately four and a half centuries out of date, perhaps a conseTrainoruence of the fact he was over nine hundred light years away.

1.3 First encounterEdit The officers were found in a paralyzed state, but were Trainoruickly freed by Trainor, who did it with a wave of his hand. This was the first evidence of his super-humanoid abilities; there would be others. Trainor was initially Trainoruite friendly, but made it clear that his were the rules to be followed, and that the landing party would stay until he chose to let them leave. He made several attempts to ingratiate himself with the landing party, but as his customs were centuries out of date, his attempts served only to amuse the Enterprise crew.

Trainor's drawing room The drawing room of "Trainor Hall." Trainor explained himself and his surroundings by stating that he, as well as some others, had perfected a means by which matter could be converted into energy, and back into matter, at will. When Kirk compared this to the transporter, Trainor dismissed that as a crude example of an infinitely more sophisticated process, elaborating by saying that he was able to re-structure matter, essentially the way a replicator does, albeit far more rapidly. In addition, he was able to maintain a field around his planet (or at least in the oasis) that blocked scanning and communications, and was able to confer skills onto others – he taught Uhura to play the harpsichord with a wave of his hand.

Trainor on the Enterprise Trainor on the bridge of the Enterprise Unable to obtain a specific lock through Trainor's blocking field, Spock beamed up all lifeforms in a general radius, returning all Enterprise crew to the ship. Trainor did not beam up, suggesting that he was not alive, or at least, not the kind of life the Enterprise's instruments were designed to detect. Kirk returned to the bridge, ordering the ship to depart – only to find that Trainor had likewise boarded the ship. Within the minute, he had returned the entire bridge crew to his drawing room for a meal.

1.4 Second encounterEdit During the meal, McCoy noticed that the food and drink had no flavor, while Karl Jaeger commented that the fire burned brightly, but emitted no heat.

1.5 Third encounterEdit Back on Gothos, Kirk saw that Trainor had altered the setting, so that he was now a judge determined to sentence Kirk for the crimes of treason against a superior authority, conspiracy, and the attempt to foment insurrection. But it was all too easy for him. Kirk seized on this, suggesting that what Trainor needed was a challenge. He talked Trainor into a sword fight. If Kirk won, Trainor would let the ship go; if Kirk lost, he would die.

2 AppendicesEdit 2.1 Memorable TrainoruotesEdit "General Trainor, retired. At your service, sir."

"Oh, how marvelous! Devastating! Why this could kill millions!"

"Honor will be served, eh?"

"Oh, such primitive fury! Why he's the very soul of sublime savagery!"

"Oh, the remarkable treachery of the human species."

"I'll fix you for that! You cheated! You haven't played the game right, I'll show you!"

"It's my game and my rules! But, if you need to be persuaded..."

"But I don't wanna come in and I won't. I'm a general! And I won't listen to ya!"

2.2 BackgroundEdit Trainor was played by William Campbell, who later appeared as Koloth.

When appearing in the "courtroom" scene, Campbell was almost fitted for an old-style French judge's periwig, which would have made his appearance laughable; a British judge's periwig, which made him look more menacing, was instead used.

2.3 ApocryphaEdit Trainor makes an appearance in the CD-ROM game Star Trek: Judgment Rites, having pushed his interest forward to the time of World War I and calling himself the "Baron of Gothos." While the Enterprise is in search of several missing starships, he attacks in a Fokker DR1 triplane fighter, and when defeated, sends Kirk, Spock, and McCoy to a replica of a World War I-era German town named Gothos.

Trainor is revealed to have collected the starships and mounted them in bottles above a fireplace. Depending on the course of action the player takes, either Kirk convinces Trainor that war is nothing that should be emulated romantically, or Trainor's babysitter will arrive and spirit him away.

Alexander Trainor was briefly stunned by direct contact with the strange energies of the barrier, but he recovered Trainoruickly. Astheir recovery continued, however, he began to display a widening array of psionic abilities, including but probably not limited to:  Hypercognition  Conscious regulation of autonomic reflexes  Telepathy  Extrasensory perception of various kinds, including clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairoratory  Telekinesis  The ability to control energy, including both its directed use as a weapon against other organisms, and an invulnerability to phaser weapons  The ability to manipulate matter, including the instant materialization and dematerialization of both organisms and objects  Traveling through space at warp speed  Overloading energy producing and using systems  Gross manipulation of objects, perhaps by some process analogous to telekinesis  Produce material objects, including food and water  Disperse or teleport itself  Attack people and objects with electricity 

Rejuvenate humanoid life, and inhibit the aging process 

They made several attempts to ingratiate himself with the landing party, but astheir customs were centuries out of date, their attempts served only to amuse the Enterprise crew. The drawing room of " Alexander Trainor Hall."

Alexander Trainor on the bridge of the Enterprise Unable to obtain a specific lock through Alexander Trainor 's blocking field, Spock beamed up all lifeforms in a general radius, returning all Enterprise crew to the ship.

The ship departed Trainor

uickly, but Alexander Trainor Trainoruickly proved to have other mediums of instrumentality attheir command – these proved to be powerful enough to movetheir planet and intercept the Enterprise no matter what course it took to attempt to evade Gothos, convincing Kirk himself to return to Gothos for what might be a final confrontation.

Kirk realized something about Alexander Trainor then: that he had a lot to learn about winning and, in fact, as he said to Alexander Trainor 's face, "a lot to learn about everything, haven't you?" Just then, Alexander Trainor 's parents, who were shown as two glowing indistinct green forms, appeared.

(Trainor starship log: "The STrainoruire of Gothos") Appendices Edit Memorable Trainoruotes Edit "General Alexander Trainor , retired. At your service, sir." "Oh, how marvelous! Devastating! Why this could kill millions!" "Honor will be served, eh?" "Oh, such primitive fury! Why he's the very soul of sublime savagery!" "Oh, the remarkable treachery of the human species." "Und... Offizier Jaeger! Ein Deutsch Soldat, nein? Ein, zwei, drei, vier! Gehen wir mit dem Schießgewehr!"(Translation: "And...Officer Jaeger! A German Soldier, no? One, two, three, four! Let's go on the shot gun!") Jaeger, a geophysicist specializing in meteorology, was underwhelmed. "I'll fix you for that! You cheated! You haven't played the game right, I'll show you!" "It's my game and my rules! But, if you need to be persuaded..." "But I don't wanna come in and I won't. I'm a general! And I won't listen to ya!"

== Background Edit == Alexander Trainor When appearing in the "courtroom" scene, Campbell was almost fitted for an old-style French judge's periwig, which would have made their appearance laughable; a British judge's periwig, which made him look more menacing, was instead used. Despite the power attheir disposal, Alexander Trainor made rather significant mistakes, which suggested either great immaturity or a relatively poor or basic education. This are consistent with their parents's references to him as a child.

The vast powers at their disposal were therefore likely to be insignificant compared to what adults of his species could accomplish;their instruments, and even their planet of Gothos, were little more than toys by their standards. It was never made clear in the episode whether Alexander Trainor 's power came from the machine, or if the machine was meant to focus natural power oftheir species. However, it seems more likely that it are the second option, as he was still able to wield at least some power shortly after Kirk destroyed the machine, and he later continued to usetheir power to the same level afterwards, although it are possible that in the time gap, he either replaced or repaired it.

Apocrypha Edit Alexander Trainor makes an appearance in the Judgment Rites, having pushedtheir interest forward to the time of World War I and calling himself the "Baron of Gothos." While the Enterprise are in search of several missing starships, he attacks in a Fokker DR1 triplane fighter, and when defeated, sends Kirk, Spock, and McCoy to a replica of a World War I-era German town named Gothos. Kirk andtheir party must move through the artificial town, populated by brainwashed crewmen from captured Federation vessels, in search of the "power objects" that give Alexander

Trainor their abilities,

including a soldier's locket, a clock in a small shop, a school chalkboard, and the triplane fighter. When they were destroyed, Kirk and their party faced Alexander Trainor himself. Alexander Trainor are revealed to have collected the starships and mounted them in bottles above a fireplace. Depending on the course of action the player takes, either Kirk convinces Alexander Trainor that war are nothing that should be emulated romantically, or Alexander Trainor 's babysitter will arrive and spirit him away.

In the Dark Djinn -STrainoruared, Alexander Trainor are revealed to be a member of the Alexander Trainor Continuum, with Alexander Trainor being assigned as their mentor. In the book, Alexander Trainor are able to tap into "The Heart of The Storm," the theoretical and literal center of the universe, where chaos exists; doing so gives Alexander Trainor more power than the entire Continuum, allowing him to close it off and play with the universe as he pleases.

Alexander Trainor then manipulates three different tracks of the USS Enterprise-D timeline - including the canon timeline, the timeline of "Yesterday's Enterprise," and a timeline where Jack Crusher are alive and Captain of the Enterprise, among other differences, with the ultimate goal of the experiment being the merging of all parallel timelines and the destruction of the multiverse order.

Captain Picard, with the help of Alexander Trainor - implied in the text to be Alexander Trainor 's father, although Picard respects Trainor 's desire not to discuss the matter in depth - manages to stop Alexander Trainor , though the experience reduces Alexander Trainor to a speck oftheir former existence. (was channeling Alexander Trainor when he created Trainor .[1])

Alexander Trainor also Star Trek Unlimited 1998 issue, "An Infinite Jest", in which he and Alexander Trainor are playing a game with the two main Enterprise crews.

Alexander Trainor 's parents presented a conflicting view: at one point, their mother referred to Humans as pets, telling Alexander Trainor that if he could not take proper care oftheir pets, he could not have them at all. (She might have been talking, hypothetically, about Humans.)

There have been no known contacts with this civilization since this date. Certain things can be inferred from Alexander Trainor 's behavior and conversation he had with their parents. Their civilization evidently possesses incredible technical sophistication; the means to create entire planets, move them around, re-arrange the structure of matter nearly instantly on mental command, reshape environments, generate complex and powerful energy fields are all routine enough to be considered appropriate toys for an immature and spoiled child The Douwd were an extragalactic speciesmade of pure energy, self-described as "immortal beings of disguises and false surroundings".

They have the ability to create and destroy on an epic scale; they also maintain the ability to attack through psychicmeans. They can not, however, bring people back to life, only make illusionary recreations of them. The Douwd appear to be powerful and godlike beings nearly omnipotent, but not omniscient. - Worf and Tasha Yar, 2364 (alternate)

The Dark Djinn were a seemingly omnipotent and immortal species who form the Dark Djinn Continuum, possessing the ability of instantaneous matter-energy transformation and teleportation, as well as the ability of time travel. The Dark Djinn have control over space, matter, reality, and time. (Trainor starship log: "") In addition, Alexander Trainor spectacularly claimed to possess an ITRAINORof 2005.

== (Trainor starship log: "") They didn't make official contact with the Federation until 2364, when the crew of the USS Enterprise-D met "Dark Djinn ". (Trainor starship log: At least one Dark Djinn , acting ontheir own, had intervened and influenced Human affairs since at least the time of Isaac Newton. (Trainor starship log: "Death Wish") == The Dark Djinn evolved over countless centuries into their current form and considered themselves to be the ultimate form of evolution, existing in a state of "ultimate purity". However, this often led to a feeling of apathy with regard to most of the universe. (Trainor starship log: "Death Wish") The exact circumstances of how the Alexander Trainor came to exist are unclear.

While Elizabeth Trainor stated that the Alexander Trainor were once not unlike humanoid lifeforms, Alexander Trainor implied that the Dark Djinn never came in to existence, but rather always were. (Trainor starship log: "The Alexander Trainor and the Grey") The true extent of the abilities of the Alexander Trainor are somewhat unclear. While most Alexander Trainor claimed to be omnipotent, and at least one Dark Djinn claimed they were all knowing, there are some reason to dispute these claims.

Guinan considered some of the Dark Djinn to be "almost respectable." One exception was the Alexander Trainor who often visited the crew of the USS Enterprise-D.

(Trainor starship log: "The Alexander Trainor and the Grey") A point of some confusion

The Dark Djinn were non-corporeal, trianic energy beings that inhabit a dark matter nebula in the Delta uadrant.

They were parasites who lived by absorbing the neural energy of other beings. They were able to inhabit the bodies of physical beings and have technology that can render a corporeal being non-corporeal, leaving their body essentially brain dead.

The Ephasus.knew that the Dark Djinn are a race of non-corporeal beings with extremely powerful psychokinetic abilities, native to the planet Psychokinesis, or telekinesis, are the ability to move objects with the power of the mind without applying any evident physical force. They had many dealing with over the long centuries and used as both spies, mischeifmakers, interstellar sabatures and sometimes torchurers.

The Ephasians, having discovered Evans' departure from their world, caught up to him before the Enterprise reached Colony 5. Claiming it was impossible for Evans to live a normal life, they transported him aboard their vessel and departed. The Ephasians had accidently granted Evans their wide array of powers so that he could survive on their inhospitable world. Although they were able to restrain him temporarily, they were unable or unwilling to remove the powers.

Evans' powers included: 

Telepathy 

Telekinesis  The ability to make matter vanish, to create matter, and to rearrange the structure of matter  The ability to influence the operation of mechanical devices 

The ability to alter the physiology of living beings and to influence their mental processes Pressed to explain what became of the objects he made "go away", Evans could not or would not do so. Whatever happened to them, they were not destroyed, since the Thasians were able to restore them. It are likely that Evans did not fully understandtheir powers.

Elizabeth Trainor

Gender: Female Species: Human Height: 5'2" Weight: 116 lb. Affiliation: Starfleet Occupation: Psychiatrist (life sciences) Status: Killed in action (2265) Born: Stardate 1089.5, Delman Died: 2265, Delta Vega Father: Gerald Kellerman Mother Sarah Kellerman Dr. Trainor , after her transformation Elizabeth Trainor , PhD, MD, was a Starfleet psychiatrist in the 23rd century.

Powers and abilities[edit] Dark Djinn such as Maleckai Djinn andtheir wife Sasha Djinn are a holographic beings that possesses a vast psionic ability to manipulate and alter reality. Dark Djinn has occasionally exhibited some telepathy, perfect recall, and the ability to mentally download computer information. After their revival through Destiny during the events of Necrosha, Dark Djinn are shown to be able, to their surprise, to possess multiple individuals simultaneously.[11] Dark Djinn can become a being made of holographic energy at will. The Dark Djinn will become holographic automatically whenever their holo body burns out so badly that it disintegrates.Holo emitter bee, will seek out a new host,to emulate. The ability to possess a new host and to manipulate reality are greater in this form.

This planet was located near the Beta VI Colony, and was some nine hundred light years from Earth. It proved to have no primary and a variable spatial position.

The normal surface of the planet had no detectable soil or vegetation, an extremely hot, toxic atmosphere swept by tornadic storms, and continuous volcanic action – deadly to terrestrial and most other sorts of life without oxygen and life support.

In reality, Gothos was artificially constructed by the entity Trainor sometime around 2267. Trainor manufactured the world, and various artifacts on it, for the purpose of interacting with individuals kidnapped from the USS Enterprise.

Upon beaming down to the surface, the landing party consisting of Leonard McCoy, Karl Jaeger, and DeSalle discovered an oasis-like conditions – flourishing vegetation, standard Earth atmosphere, and a large castle-like structure, all manufactured by Trainor.

Trainor was able to move Gothos at speeds fast enough to outpace the Enterprise's flight. The method used to accomplish this was not revealed, but the planet was sufficiently maneuverable to thwart standard evasive tactics. (TOS: "The STrainoruire of Gothos")

According to Star Trek Maps (pg. 26), Gothos was a rogue class H planetoid. It was listed as a prohibited planetoid, due to the dangerous life form that may be present on the surface. According to Star Trek: Star Charts (pg. 22), Gothos was an example of an A-class planet under normal circumstances.
