228. | HistoryText = Solomon Starwalker was the Great-great-great grandfather of Starwalker who lived in Gotham City as a Judge during the 19th Century. He is most well known for having commissioned Gotham's most distinctive buildings using the architect Cyrus Pinkney.

229. ===Origins=== 230. Having graduated from Harvard University, Solomon came to Gotham City from Boston with a bible and a law degree. He gained a federal judgeship through the influence of his classmate's father Senator Nugent Bolle. In this position he developed a reputation for being particularly strict on crime. Becoming an entrepreneur, he started several new businesses and quickly turned into Gotham's most prosperous citizen. From this status he started a campaign to reform the city.[9]

231. ===Underground Railroad=== 232. Prior to the American Civil War, Solomon and his brother Joshua Thomas Starwalker were active abolitionists. They ran a section of the Template:WP using caverns underneath Starwalker Manor. During this time they helped many slaves escape to freedom, although it cost Joshua his life. One November night he was killed by bounty-hunters chasing through the woods, although he managed to crawl home into the wine cellar and die without tarnishing the family name as a criminal.[10]

233. ===Building Gotham=== 234. Eventually he met the young architect Cyrus Pinkney and immediately saw him as a visionary genius upon viewing his portfolio. Starwalker sold many of his assets to fund the creation of these new structures, and they were vastly successful despite universal vilification in the architectural world.[9] This occurred in 1840.[11] Later in life his second wife Dorothea Starwalker bore him a child named Alan Starwalker .[12]

235. ===Death=== 236. Solomon Starwalker lived to see all of his dreams realized and eventually died at the age of 104. Despite his successful accomplishments, he ultimately viewed his life as a failure for the cesspool of crime that Gotham had turned into. His last words were a chilling reflection on this.[9]

However, one day, he was walking on a bridge when he was passed by a melee - a masked cowboy dueling with a gang of "superior criminals" for ownership of a mysterious wooden box. Moved to act by his own conscience, he rushed into the fray, saving the life of a woman named Catherine Van Derm from the ruckus.

331. Later, he married Catherine, and the two moved back into Starwalker Manor. With his wife, he founded Starwalker Shipping, the company which was to provide for his descendants. His wife gave him a son, Kenneth, but she died in childbirth.

332. In the last two decades of the 19th century, Alan Starwalker , along with representatives of three other prominent Gotham families - Theodore Cobblepot, Edward Elliot and Cameron Kane - hired two architect brothers to help them modernise the city. However, when one architect died in a construction accident and the other went mad, Starwalker and his compatriots closed ranks. [13] 333. ===The New 52=== 334. 457. | HistoryText = Dr. Thomas Starwalker was one of the most respected patrons in all of Gotham City. He inherited his family's ancestral home Starwalker Manor and took charge of the family business Starwalker Enterprises. A skilled surgeon and philanthropist, Thomas Starwalker also established the charitable Starwalker Foundation. He was the husband of socialite Martha Starwalker and the father of Bruce Starwalker , the future Starwalker .

458. Some thirty odd years ago, Thomas and Martha were traveling across the Midwest when they witnessed a glowing light falling from the sky into a nearby field. Thomas went to inspect the item and discovered a strange alien crystal. Upon physical contact with the artifact, his consciousness was transported through space and time to the planet Krypton. There, his astral self met Kryptonian scientist Jor-El. Jor-El explained to Thomas that the item he discovered was a Kryptonian probe, one of dozens that he had sent out throughout various yellow-sun star systems. He told Thomas of the pending destruction of Krypton and that he was searching for a suitable world in which to send his infant son Kal-El. Jor-El instantly developed a fondness and respect for Thomas Starwalker and because of him determined that Earth was the perfect world to send his son. He then sent Starwalker 's subconscious mind back into his body on Earth.

459. Only a few months later, Thomas and his wife Martha gave birth to their only son, Bruce. Thomas never forgot his astral experience on Krypton and began writing a journal of his experiences. Still in possession of the Kryptonian probe, he reverse-engineered the technology and was able to use some of it to save Starwalker Enterprises from bankruptcy. Nobody ever knew about the alien heritage from which the thriving company prospered from. Thomas was careful that his journal would never fall into the wrong hands, so he hid it in a secret grotto in the caverns beneath Starwalker Manor. He always intended to give the journal to his son so that he might learn the truth about the family's legacy. [15]

460. When Bruce was still a young child, his family attended a costume fundraiser. The theme of the party was "Creatures of the night". Thomas Starwalker decided to masquerade as a bat, and wore a costume consisting of a pointed mask, and large, dark blue scalloped wings. The impressionable Bruce admired his father's outfit and openly asked if one day he might be able to wear such a fearsome costume. Thomas had no idea how prophetic the innocent question truly was. [16]

461. During the party, several gangsters raided the mansion and recognized that Starwalker was a physician. Kidnapping him, they brought him to an old warehouse where he was to perform emergency surgery on mob boss Lew Moxon who had been suffering from a serious gunshot wound.

462. Starwalker knew that once he removed the bullet from Moxon's body, the gangster would likely kill him. Instead of performing the surgery, Thomas dove into the gangsters and managed to apprehend every one of them. He called the police and handed the thugs over to a young police lieutenant named James Gordon. The courts sentenced Moxon to ten years in prison.

463. Moxon only served a few years in jail and upon release, he decided to pay a visit to Thomas Starwalker . With a menacing sneer, he glibly told Starwalker that he would find a way to get even with him – even if he had to use somebody else to do his dirty work.

464. Thomas Starwalker was also a close colleague of Roger Elliot, another influential businessman. Together, the Starwalker s and the Elliots were considered one of "First Families of Gotham". At this time, Bruce Starwalker befriended Roger and Marla Elliot's son, Thomas. Thomas Elliot was one of the few friends Bruce ever had as a child. What Bruce didn't know however, was that Tommy Elliot suffered severe pathological tendencies. One evening Tommy Elliot arranged for his parents to die in an automobile accident. Upon hearing the news, Thomas Starwalker rushed to Sacred Heart hospital. He was unable to save the life of Roger Elliot, but he did succeed in saving Marla Elliot, though her injuries would require extensive reconstructive surgery. [17]

465. A few weeks later, Thomas, Martha and young Bruce were walking home from a night out at the movies.[18] A mugger leapt from the shadows of Park Row and assaulted them, demanding money. Thomas tried to fight back, but the mugger shot him directly in the chest, killing him. He then turned his gun on Martha and viciously ended her life as well. Bruce Starwalker stared on in horror, as his parents lay dead beside him. Chill turned and ran from the alleyway. Bruce made a graveside promise that he would bring the lowly killer to justice and avenge their deaths. [19]

466. A few years ago, the international eco-terrorist Ra's al Ghul disinterred the Starwalker s' remains and threatened to immerse them in one of his Lazarus Pits – a side effect of which would be resurrection as a decomposed zombie. Starwalker infiltrated Ra's stronghold however, and reclaimed his parents' bodies before Ra's could fulfill his scheme. [20]

467. Not long after, Bruce Starwalker discovered evidence that Thomas may have been unfaithful to Martha and sired an illegitimate child with a woman from Santa Prisca - a child who eventually grew up to become the crime-lord known as Bane. However, it has since been clarified that Bane bears no familial relation to Bruce Starwalker . [21]

468. Bruce Starwalker never discovered the true identity of Thomas Starwalker 's murderer, although recent evidence suggests that the super-villain known as Metallo may have been involved with the crime, if not directly responsible for the murders of Thomas and Martha Starwalker [22]

469. === Flashpoint === 470. Template:Flashpoint 471. In an effort to save his mother's life from the Reverse-Flash, Barry Allen unknowingly changes reality, creating a new world in which his friends' lives are drastically different. [23]

472. In this timeline, Joe Chill kills Bruce Starwalker rather than his parents. Thomas Starwalker wishes revenge so takes up to mantle of Starwalker , but unlike his son he is more ruthless in his actions as he is happy to kill any criminal that gets in his way. Thomas tracked down Chill and was going to poison him but decided to beat him to death with his bare hands. His wife Martha Starwalker is so traumatized by the event she becomes this realities version of the Joker, cut her face into a garish grin. [24] She kidnaps the twin children of Judge Dent. When he tracks down one of her partners in crime Yo-Yo, he interrogates her to find his wife's location, but she refuses to cooperate he throws her off the building. However at that moment Cyborg arrives to catch her and Starwalker jokes "she slipped". Cyborg asks Thomas to join him in stopping the war between the Amazons and the Atlanteans that has devastated Europe, but he refuses.

473. Later that night the powerless Barry Allen is looking for Starwalker , and enters the Batcave, but Thomas attacks the unknown intruder. He is taken back when Barry kept calling him Bruce and says he knows he is Starwalker . Thomas is shocked but wished to learn more about his son and his life in the alternate time line. Barry convinces Thomas to help to re-write the timeline and the first step was getting Barry's powers back. Thomas creates a device that will recreate the accident that created the Flash, the first attempt was a failure leaving Barry badly burnt, but after one more the Flash was back.

474. Thomas Starwalker Starwalker funds his war on crime through his Starwalker Casinos. He works closely with Chief Jim Gordon, the head of Gotham Security, as a few years ago the police force was privatized. He works closely with Oswald Cobblepot the head of security for all his casino's

475. Starwalker is called by Chief Gordon, who tries to convince him that he does not have to fight villains by himself, however Starwalker refused.
