Eva Habermann as Zev

[]

-->
Zev was born on the planet B3K, one of the worlds ruled by His Divine Shadow. While still an infant, she was sold by her parents to the Wife Bank, where she was raised in a box with no human contact. Her only companion was an interactive video tutor which schooled her on how to be a submissive but sexually aggressive wife. When she finally learned her lessons well enough to receive a passing grade, she was sold to be a wife, due to meet her husband for the first time at their wedding. However, Zev was obese and covered in acne, and her husband turned out to be a spoiled adolescent whose parents had bought him a wife as a present. Her assigned husband's first words were to complain that Zev was hideous and refuse to marry her. Zev, much larger than her childish fiancé, was furious and punched him so hard that he was knocked unconscious.

For "failing to perform her wifely duties", Zev was sentenced to become a love slave, a process performed by a machine called the Lusticon. The love-slave transformation process went fine through the first few steps: altering Zev's body to be physically perfect and self-maintaining, changing her hair color to light-blue, and heightening her libido. But before the final step could occur — re-adjusting her mind to make her madly in love with her intended owner — a loose Cluster Lizard interfered with the process. Zev was fused with the cluster lizard, absorbing some of its DNA, from which she gained increased strength and was able to break her restraints. She escaped from the Lusticon and placed the head of a decapitated 790 robot in its path. The robot head (790) received the adjustment instead and immediately fell in love with Zev<ref>{{cite video

Zev died early on in the second season, in the episode "Terminal". In the next episode, "Lyekka", she was reanimated by Lyekka (combining proteins with another humanoid, to explain her altered appearance) as a present for Stan. The new Zev (called Xev) is more aggressive and has also come to the rescue of her crewmates on multiple occasions.

Although Stan is usually the Captain, both Zev and Xev have held the key to The Lexx at some point during the show's run.

Throughout the series, Zev/Xev's heightened libido is constantly frustrated. She is madly in love with Kai, but he cannot return her feelings because he is dead. 790 worships her, but does not have a body. Stan also frequently comes on to her, but even with her heightened libido, she still finds Stan repulsive. Zev/Xev propositions many of the men she meets throughout the series, but circumstances usually lead to their violent deaths before she can get anywhere with them.

Zev has the ability to transform into a cluster lizard, however this transformation is rare and involuntary. She has also developed the ability to curl her body into a ball-like shape and roll around at a considerable speed like her cluster-lizard "relatives" in season three, and can also make noises like them. In season four she also entered the cluster lizard mating cycle causing her to act strangely for a time. When she encountered a reincarnated Kai on Earth she had a blackout wherein she may have mated with him and then eaten him.

Eva Felicitas Habermann (born January 16, 1976 in Hamburg) is a German actress who has appeared in numerous films and TV series.  She is best known for playing the role of Zev Bellringer in the television miniseries Lexx.  She was succeeded in her role by Xenia Seeberg.

While studying for the (German equivalent of) her high school diploma, Eva received singing and dancing lessons. Soon after graduation, she obtained her first television role in Lexx. She also moderated the children Pumuckl TV broadcast on German TV (1995/1996).

While Lexx was on hiatus between seasons 1 and 2, Eva appeared in the ZDF series Rosa Roth and the ARD series The Beach Club as well as appearing in the Rosamunde Pilcher film Two sisters.  Due to scheduling conflicts, she was ultimately unable to commit to the second season of the show, as, with a two year gap between the first and second seasons, she accepted other projects and thus, when season two was ultimately greenlit, she was unavailable.  She was, however, able to free up enough time in her schedule to appear in the first two episodes, allowing the writers to deal with her character properly.

In 1999, she took drama lessons and played in such German TV series as "The crime scene", "The Investigators", "The Commissioner" and "Wild Angels".

In 2005, she was in the new episodes of the twenty year old series "Black Forest Clinic" and in 2006 she was seen in the TV movie "In heaven you write love differently" alongside Erol Sander.

In 2008, she played again with Sander the role of Olivia O'Rourke in the film "Who loves promises" by Rebecca Ryman.

Her comedy roles included "Angel Express" (1997), "Fire, ice and cans of beer" (2001), and "In the old monkey fear" (2002).

In "The clown: Payday" (2005) she played the role of Leah Diehl.

In 2003 she was ranked #17 in [FHM]-Germany's 100 Sexiest Women.
